Metricool felt very intuitive while using, and we can say that it’s a good option for managing social media for agencies and professionals handling multiple client accounts.
The tool’s social media scheduler really stood out for us. It was easy to schedule posts across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, and Google Business Profiles. There were a few hiccups that bugged us, like not being able to add YouTube thumbnails to Shorts, and TikTok descriptions not being well-formatted at the time of publishing.
Reporting was another area where Metricool impressed us. The ability to generate branded reports with custom logos and reusable templates made client updates effortless. Limited data tracking was a drawback there as well.
It’s one of the few tools that truly feels built for how we work today. While agencies might find it expensive with its pricey scaling, SMBs can get the best of their money. But it does come with some limitations. Read our complete review of Metricool to understand if it fits your needs.
Top Rated Metricool Alternative
Pros
Farley T.
What I value most is its visual scheduling calendar, as it makes organizing posts simple and clear. I also highlight that its plans and rates are accessible for SMEs. Additionally, the integration with Google Ads and Facebook Ads campaigns allows me to get a comprehensive view of both organic and paid performance from a single dashboard.
Cons
Olivia B.
The system is not very user-friendly, considering the cost, which is very unfortunate. I was so excited to use the metrics and analytics that Metricool provides. However, the minimal number of accounts and the cost of adding more accounts were not worth it.

If you’re managing content across multiple platforms, Metricool schedules posts on 11 social media platforms. So, rest assured you won’t be missing anything.
Its “Autolist” feature piqued our interest. It’s another fancy name for bulk scheduling but it works fine. You can manually create a list of all your evergreen posts, pull them through an RSS feed, or upload a CSV file for automatic publishing.
The post creation process starts from the calendar, and we found the layout decent. The calendar is feature-rich, offering options to add country based calendars and see the best times to post across regions. The best time appeared right after connecting the account, so it seems to be based on pre-set data rather than real-time numbers.
Yes, advanced features like scheduling Instagram collaboration posts, TikTok carousels, and LinkedIn carousels are available. Plus, with support for YouTube Shorts, Metricool makes it easy to manage both long-form and short-form video content from one place.
When it comes to scheduling, Metricool ticks all the marks on the paper. However, when you start using it, you see some problems that might disrupt your workflow.
For example, when scheduling YouTube Shorts, there’s no option to add or change the thumbnail. If YouTube is a major platform for you, this means manually searching for the thumbnail, which isn’t very efficient.
A scheduling hiccup with Instagram is the file size limit of 500 MB; anything larger requires compression. This is an API issue, and most apps have a 512 MB max. Similarly, the TikTok formatting issue is another common problem across social media management tools, including Metricool.

Metricool’s analytics really impressed us. If you’re running campaigns for clients or managing multiple brand profiles, clear and actionable data is non-negotiable, and Metricool delivers.
It covers organic data across all the social networks it supports in detail. You get a clear breakdown of how each post performs, including engagement, reach, clicks, CTR, and audience growth, which makes it easy to spot what’s working and what isn’t.
The paid data side is more limited, but it still gives enough visibility to understand overall campaign performance.
We noticed limits around historical data access. For some platforms, analytics are capped at two months. This works well for tracking short-term campaigns, recent posts, or monthly performance, but it can feel restrictive when you need to analyze long-term trends or seasonal growth.
We also saw that Instagram follower and story tracking start only from the day you connect the account. This is fine for ongoing monitoring, but less useful when onboarding an existing brand and reviewing past performance.
The reporting feature stood out as well. We liked the customization options for logos and background colors, the ability to select specific metrics, and saving report templates so you don’t have to start from scratch. Reports can be downloaded as PDF or PPT files, or scheduled for email delivery.
There are no limits on downloads, and you can design unlimited custom report templates. You can also export your social media data to Google Data Studio to create fully tailored reports. Additionally, Metricool allows users to auto-schedule report sharing directly to clients, making client management seamless and more efficient.
Although higher-tier plans offer some report customization, similar flexibility isn’t available in the real-time analytics dashboard. Now it’s not a deal breaker for veryone but marketers who want their dashboard to be clean and focused will miss it.

We liked how Metricool’s inbox brings together messages, comments, and mentions from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, and YouTube, even though availability varies by platform.
We especially liked the option to leave internal notes on each conversation to add context, flag issues, or guide teammates on how to respond.
The current inbox UI doesn’t offer smooth accessibility when switching between brands. Space management isn’t optimized for marketers handling a high volume of messages across multiple brands.
There are also no keyword-based automated triggers, so no automated messages can be sent based on specific terms.

Metricool’s collaboration feature is straightforward. We liked the roles and permissions feature especially. While Metricool isn’t our best choice for agencies, this particular feature is where it wins. You can invite a user and assign them different roles and permissions on what they can see and do at the brand level.
Approval workflow is also easy-to-use. You can send and receive the post for approval and reject with a note.
It has an all or nothing workflow that relies on a “ping pong” style of collaboration, which isn’t a drawback but doesn’t work well for brainstorming. There are tools that offer post level commenting during the approval process, which helps you brainstorm and pass feedback in a much better way.
So yes, Metricool lacks particular client collaboration features that competing platforms offer more effectively.

Metricool’s AI assistant ticks every box you’d expect from an in-built AI generator.
You can give it the topic of the social media post and choose presets like tone, language, and the social media platform you’re writing for to tailor your posts.
It basically uses these presets in a basic prompt to generate the caption. It’s a good starting point for creating the first draft, and you can take it from there.
There are no major drawbacks to Metricool’s AI assistant. It offers all the features you’d expect from an AI assistant in any other social media management tool. One thing it lacks is agentic AI scheduling capabilities, which some leading social media scheduling platforms have started offering.

Metricool is designed with user experience in mind. The platform is easy to navigate, making it accessible even for those new to social media management tools. The ease of setup scores an impressive 4.3/5, allowing teams to manage multiple accounts and features without hassle.
Personally, we think the space management on the calendar could be improved. Setting up Metricool takes just a few hours, enabling users to integrate their social media accounts and schedule content quickly. This efficient setup process, combined with its user-friendly design, makes Metricool an excellent option for seasoned marketers and beginners looking to enhance their social media presence.

Metricool provides robust customer support to ensure users have the assistance they need. With priority customer support available, users can reach out via chat, email, call, or social media, making getting help through their preferred communication channel convenient.

Overall, their accessible support options and comprehensive onboarding resources ensure users can maximize their experience with Metricool and efficiently manage their social media strategies.

When you’re managing multiple social media accounts, whether for clients or your own growing brand, you don’t have time to waste toggling between platforms, chasing approvals, or building reports from scratch.
Tools like Metricool offer a clean interface and decent analytics, but if you’re running an agency, working with a small marketing team, or wearing all the hats yourself, you’ll likely hit limitations sooner than you expect.
SocialPilot, being a versatile social media management tool, excels in several key areas compared to Metricool. It has an intuitive scheduling feature that allows for easy posting across multiple platforms through a simple drag-and-drop interface. Its bulk scheduling capability works great for higher volumes of content and more complex workflows.
SocialPilot goes beyond basic reporting with detailed analytics that help you truly understand what’s working across platforms, campaigns, and content types. For agencies and SMBs juggling multiple accounts, it’s built-in client management system, with separate logins and approval workflows, makes collaboration seamless and cuts down on back-and-forth.
With a centralized social inbox, your team can respond to comments, DMs, and mentions from one place, making community management faster and more efficient.
Its pricing is structured to deliver maximum value without compromise, making it ideal for small teams and fast-growing businesses. Plus, the interface is clean and intuitive, so you and your team can get started quickly without wasting time on onboarding.
If you’re looking for a social media tool that’s actually built for how agencies and small businesses work, SocialPilot delivers the flexibility, control, and clarity you need to scale with confidence.
Metricool is a solid option for managing social media content across multiple platforms, offering essential tools like scheduling, analytics, and social inbox. However, its user interface can be challenging, and some advanced features are locked behind higher-tier plans.
If you’re focused on basic social media management and are okay with limited analytics on certain platforms, Metricool is a good fit. But, for those seeking deeper insights or more intuitive tools, SocialPilot is certainly a better choice.

Metricool can be used for free. However, the free lifetime plan only allows you to connect 1 brand account for every social media channel. If you wish to connect more social accounts, you need to get a paid subscription for the tool.
Sure, you can automatically schedule Instagram posts via Metricool. Please note though that this automated scheduling of Instagram content is only allowed for Instagram Business accounts. You will not be able to use Metricool to auto-post content to your Instagram personal account.
